Consumer Goods
The Consumer Goods sector covers consumer products, media, healthcare, hospitality, financial services and real estate. PAI is the leading private equity investor in the European Food & Beverage industry and has contributed to the growth of a large number of Europe's leading brands. PAI's buyouts in the sector include some of the largest: United Biscuits (#1 in the UK and #2 in Europe in biscuits), Chr. Hansen (the leading worldwide supplier of cultures to the food industry), Yoplait (global #2 brand in fresh dairy products), Panzalim (including Amora Maille (sauces/condiments), William Saurin (ready meals), Panzani (pasta/pasta sauces)), Panzani Lustucru (the leading player in dry grocery/traiteur frais in France), Provimi (world leader in animal feed production), Stoeffler (largest producer in France of "Charcuterie Alsacienne"), Seda (Spanish instant coffee producer) and Beeck-Homann Feinkost (leading producer of chilled mixed salad in Germany). PAI also led the buyout of Saeco (the leading European automatic espresso coffee machine manufacturer). PAI’s experience in the media sector arises from a number of investments made by Paribas, including RTL Group (largest TV and radio broadcaster in Europe), M6 (second largest commercial TV broadcaster in France), SR Téléperformance (# 1 European phone marketing group) and UGC (movie theatre operator) as well as IPC (largest consumer magazine publisher in the UK). In the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors, PAI has completed the buyouts of Ipsen (speciality pharma) and Ceva (veterinarian pharmaceutical laboratory). The PAI team also contributed to the successful development of Cepa (speciality pharma) as a majority shareholder as well as Alphamed (private hospital) and Jouan (bio-instrumentations). In the real estate sector, PAI completed the buyout of Kaufman & Broad (one of France's leading developers and builders of homes). |
